Since it's establishment in 2006 the Institute of Kashmir Studies (IKS) has evolved to become one of the important centers in the University of Kashmir, offering inter-disciplinary research and teaching with a thrust on the history and culture of the region. From 2012 to 2017 the Institute offered one M.A programme in Kashmir and South Asian Studies that attracted students from South Asian Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries. Sixty percent of the students enrolled in the programme were from countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. We continue to invest in our student experience, developing and expanding our range of academic programmes. In 2008 the Institute achieved another milestone by starting an interdisciplinary M.Phil/PhD Programme in social sciences.
At IKS we believe our success lies in our passion for teaching and learning and our commitment to the growth of our students.
I would encourage you to keep visiting our website for updates on our research programmes, conferences, workshops, publications and special lectures.
